India will host the U-17 Women’s World Cup in 2020.

After the successful hosting of FIFA U-17 men’s world cup 2017 India again ready for the pride to host second FIFA tournament “FIFA U-17 women’s world-cup”. It has been announced by the International Football Federation’s (FIFA) President Gianni Infantino.

This will be the second time that India qualified for the FIFA world cup by default as a host. The last time India played in a World Cup was the U-17 Men’s World Cup, where also India qualified by virtue of being the hosts.

The AIFF (All India Football Federation) President Praful Patel said: “India is grateful to FIFA for keeping their trust on us”. He also thanked the government of India and state government to support and assurance for winning the bid for hosting.

It will be the historic moment for Indian football and motivate players as well as Indian football fans. However, in U-17 men’s football world cup India not did very well but we are hoping this tournament will be a great success for the Indian team.

In this U-17 women’s world-cup, 16 teams will take part along with India and Spain will be defending its title. In 2018 Spain had beaten Mexico by 2-1 in Uruguay. While New Zealand secured 3rd place and Canada 4th place in the Tournament.
